Rochdale bathrooms 🤣 we’ve had some tough bathrooms to install this year! This one being one of the smallest we’ve had which always makes it abit more difficult when installing, but we got there in the end! Our customer wanted to get rid of the bath and have a walk in style shower and also abit more storage within the bathroom. This is going to bit a LONG post 😅 This is our first bathroom installation completed in littleborough of the new year. Its took 14days and a lot of hard work to get this one done and we’re super happy with the outcome. You might think 14days to complete a bathroom renovation?! Seems a long time…but it’s the hidden problems you find and then rectifying them. This one took us 2 days to strip back completely (back to brick/studs, floor boards up) and as we took the floorboards up and inspection of the joists we noticed one HAD to be replaced and it was that badly damaged. To rectify this joist we had to install a new one from the kitchen ceiling below creating a bit of a mess but the right thing to do. What we’re getting at is theres alot of “bathroom fitters” who are in and out as fast as they can be, to get paid as fast as possible. WE care about the service we provide and we’re proud of all our bathroom installations that we do take every bathroom back to brick/studs and the floorboards come up, because whats the point in spending your hard earned money on a new bathroom when your walls, floorboards, joists and pipework are all old, used and worn (potentially dangerous) and inevitably get an issue with your new bathroom because it costs a little more to have it done correctly. We maybe a tad more expensive (not always!) than your local one man band who isn’t VAT registered but we’re an established business over many, many years who provides a top quality service with a 5 year labour guarantee to back that. So back to the bathroom 😅 Our customer has been amazing throughout the whole bathroom renovation process and has looked after us very well and we appreciate that as with all of our customers. Called in for this bathroom renovation and so much work went into this. Anyone who says old houses we’re built better, they’re lying 🤥😂 We had to build new stud walls all around the room because the walls were that far out. But overall not much room was lost by building the new walls. We also managed to use the basin again as requested by our customer. Small downstairs cloakroom complete 😁 The joists were badly rotten and almost none existant on this because of a leak the customer had. New joists and floorboards installed ready for the lino. After around 9 Days, the next one is done. We’ve been well looked after with bacon butty’s everyday. This goes to show how much a bathroom can change. In our original plans we were knocking down the cupboard and building another smaller cupboard to give the customer more space in the shower area but after knocking the bathroom cupboard down it made more sense to have an even bigger shower with a wall hung storage unit whilst also creating more space in the bathroom. A change from installing a new bathroom. New kitchen ceiling installed after customer had a leak through the previous one. The new plastic panelled ceiling with new downlights took us 2 days to complete. We made a new level frame around the ceiling perimeter. Some important news. Unfortunately due to rising costs it’s no longer viable to keep the shop open so we will be closing it down. Although the shop will be shut, we will still be operating our business as usual and still designing, supplying and installing new bathrooms. There’s not much change apart from us not having the showroom. Over the past 3 years we’ve been bringing the showroom to our customers, rather than to the shop. We’ve just transformed this bathroom for our customers in Rochdale. It took 11 days to complete, from stripping out to prepping and then installing the bathroom. We hit a few issues with this bathroom project, the first being the gas pipe under the bath, we had to call @leebuckley to alter this so we could get the shower tray as low as possible. The second issue being the soil stack in the bathroom, we like to hide our pipework where we can but on this occasion it wasn’t possible without major work. Cowboy builders 🤠… So we got a call from a customer asking if we could go and look at their Wetroom that had just been completed Upon arriving we could tell instantly there were many faults and that was only issues aesthetically, so we could only imagine what work had been done behind the scenes. We provided our customer a quote and after patiently waiting for a few months without the use of the whole shower room we began work. The work behind the scenes was some off the most shocking work we’ve ever seen and was indeed not completed by a professional or somebody with any moral’s. The work was not only to a very unprofessional standard but was a potential hazard to the customer. I will list some of the issues: -Tiles were dot and dabbed, not the correct technique to install any tiles, the walls should be spread with a notched trowel and tiles skimmed with adhesive too. (Potential hazard too fall of the wall damaging shower room or even landing on the customer) -Wetroom subfloor was made up off blocks of wood, some of it not screwed to anything in between the joists. -Joists, one in particular had been fully cut impacting the structural integrity -Plumbing, a vent pipe had been cut and left open, gas putty used on the concealed shower fittings, a flexible tap connector which are a definite no for being concealed. We were also removing all rubbish left behind under the floor (including half a shortbread biscuit 👀) and noticed they’d also screwed threw a water pipe 😬. Just an endless an amount of problems, its impossible to name something they did right…. Its extremely unfair to any customer who has paid their hard earned money and put there trust into somebody who unknowingly is completely incompetent. Here’s our lasted bathroom we completed in Milnrow. Brilliant customers! Becoming a very popular tile recently with concealed GROHE shower and bath tap. A curved Carron Bathrooms bath was installed which made much more room. A couple of niche shelfs in the shower area for the shampoo bottles. (Waterproofed with Tilemaster Adhesives products). Another bathroom completed in Castleton with a lot of work involved. Walls were knocked down on this one to make the bathroom a little bit more spacious. 🧱 🔨 We’ve enjoyed working on this one and our customer pretty much left us to it. The bath was removed and a walk in shower with a glass panel installed (It’s becoming the norm to remove baths for showers🚿). Our customer wanted a bit of storage so opted for a vanity basin unit instead of a standard basin and pedestal. Black oak effect vinyl flooring - most customers are opting for this rather than tiles. The toilet 🚽 was rimless - a more hygienic toilet A towel rail was added instead of a standard radiator.
